When Katie & Vaughn met on St.Patrick’s Day sparks started flying and it wasn’t much longer before they knew they had finally met “the one.” It was easy to tell during their engagement session just how into each other this couple is. The way they look into each others eyes, cuddle up to each other, and the endearing words they exchange leave no room for questioning their love for each other.
Romance on a Vintage Bridge in Downtown Denver
I first met up with Katie & Vaughn on this stunning architectural bridge in downtown Denver. And the red maple leaves were so beautiful that day! They were overflowing over the side of the bridge and over the wall of the Cherry Creek bike path. The bridge and the leaves made a perfect backdrop for some unique engagement pictures. Then we walked around downtown stopping and playing around some other random fun spots we found for pictures.

I had scoped out the area a few days before their photo shoot to find a fun bar to stop in for a drink, but turned out the bar wasn’t open at the time they told me it would be. But as our luck would have it one of Vaughn’s favorite bars, the Polished Tavern, was right next door! Vaughn used to be a regular at Polished so the staff was happy to let us do their engagement pictures there. The lighting and decor at Polished Tavern turned out to be a perfect fit for their pictures. It added a nice modern setting to mix up with the vintage bridge and urban downtown photos we had already gotten. And everyone loves a beer (or martini) break.

To finish off their engagement pictures we stopped at Larimer Square. This is one of the most popular streets in downtown Denver and since it was a Saturday night the street was already bustling with traffic and people. So we had to do some people dodging but it still worked beautifully, love the lights! Overall it was a perfect fun session and I even made it back to my car before my meter ran out at the two hour mark, those Denver meter maids don’t play around! Can’t wait to see you two tie the know at Trinity Church and then celebrate your wedding at the Four Seasons next summer.
