Mountain wedding at The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge, CO

When I left Denver for Rebecca & Derek’s Mountain wedding,  it was a steaming 100 degrees!  My staff and I were so glad to be heading to a mountain wedding where it was about 20 degrees cooler, wise location for a hot Denver summer!

For their wedding Rebecca & Derek went with a navy blue & yellow vintage theme, with lots of personal touches, and hired event planner extraordinaire, TC Decker of Muse Events to help pull it all off.  Rebecca, the bride, wore a gorgeous satin dress from the Denver wedding boutique Anna Be.  Rebecca & Derek tied the knot on the outdoor deck of The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge.   The  stunning mountain vista views from atop this deck make it a perfect backdrop for a Colorado mountain wedding. Overflowing bouquets and centerpieces of yellow roses & orchids were perfect vintage touches created by Brilliant Blooms.  And the dramatic birch wood chuppah was a unique addition for this vintage inspired wedding. I could tell the bride & groom were both a little nervous and anxious to get things started, but the romantic live music provided by Bob Alster Music helped set the relaxing tone for the start of what turned out to be a perfect heart-touching ceremony. Rebecca & Derek wrote their own vows, which were emotional and at times just really funny.  They also included their beloved dog Tsunami in the wedding party, whom wore a bright yellow tie to match.  Following the ceremony we took pictures of the wedding party around The Lodge, then Rebecca & Derek took off for the ceremony in a gorgeous sports car (forgive me for not being car savy, if you know the name of this car please chime in), to head to their wedding reception at Beaver Run.

For their Breckenridge mountain wedding, they had a beautiful wedding cake, created by Mermaids, with the mountains carved into the icing, and natural wood surrounding the bottom layer.  They had an artist create a custom take topper complete with a replication of Derek’s snowboard and their dog Tsunami.  And to stay with their vintage wedding theme, they gave out homemade jam jars as wedding favors.  After dinner, Rebecca & Derek surprised everyone with a beautiful ballroom dance number.   Their wedding reception was filled with a lot of heartfelt toasts and a little cake smashing (you gotta see that picture below, soo funny!).  Then the dancing really kicked off with all the guests joining in for the traditional Jewish dance, the Hora.  It was an amazing night to be getting married in Breckenridge, and I was so happy to be a part of it!  I’ve got about a thousand pictures or so to still go through, but for now press play below to enjoy their wedding picture preview (and click the right tv icon to view full screen).
