From Lost to Found...A Mom refinds herself with the help of a Boudoir Photo Shoot

"I’m 41 and finally comfortable with myself. I wasted my 20s on comparing myself to everything, my 30s were consumed by babies and toddlers, but now I’m owning who I am."

Why did you want to do this photo shoot?

I have wanted to do a shoot for close to 10 years, but lost myself in raising small children. I have found myself again these last few years now that my children are older, and I am proud of what my body has supported me through. It was my husband who asked if I wanted to do a shoot and I said yes, I’m truly ready. I’m 41 and I’m finally content with my body, I’m not competing with anyone else and I am the most confident I have ever been.

Why did you choose Nicole Nichols Photography?

Nicole was our wedding photographer, and it feels like we’ve come full circle with having her do my boudoir shoot almost 14 years later.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

It’s really hard to pick my favorite because everything was so good. She looked through my outfits and accessories and gave me her professional opinion on what would work the best, and then her posing demos really helped me feel so comfortable in front of the camera

Was there anything that you did not enjoy or wish was done differently?

Truly, no. I loved the studio space, the makeup artist, and the whole experience.

How did this you feel following the session, did it help with your self-confidence and body image?

I felt energetic and like I owned the world. Nothing could bring me down.

What would you tell other ladies that are on the fence about doing a similar type of photo shoot?

Please, please do it. Nicole is so good at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera and hot as hell! Take the time to find pieces you are comfortable in and fit well, and Nicole will do the rest to make it a great experience.
