Destination Boudoir Photography for Men: Breaking Stereotypes in the Moab Desert

Since having kids, I don’t get to travel for destination photo shoots as often as I used to—so when I do, it’s a refreshing break from my Denver studio. The artist in me thrives on the challenge of a new place, a fresh environment, something different and daring!
And speaking of daring…I had the honor of photographing these two bold and brave men in the wild beauty of the Moab desert.
I love that more and more men are stepping in front of my camera. For so long, it felt like only women wanted to be photographed. But here’s the truth—men also want to feel and look beautiful. Men also deserve images that show their strength, their sensuality, and their own unique beauty.
And just as important—men deserve the freedom to wear whatever the hell they want!Â
Silk pants and floral shirts? Absolutely.Â
Black fishnet and lace? Hell yes!

If you know Halo, you know he’s a fashion icon—his closet is a treasure trove of vibrant colors, sequins, silk, and fur. For this shoot, he kept it modest in black jeans, but still brought his signature flair with a furry wool vest. It takes confidence to pull off his looks—and he does it effortlessly.

Then there’s Sam—a sex and relationship coach (find out more about him at https://www.samcharlescoaching.com/) who isn’t afraid to be his authentic self and embrace his feminine side with fishnet leggings.
NEWSFLASH - fishnets are SEXY on anyone, even men!

Both of these men stepped fully into their authentic selves. They wore what they wanted, owned every moment, and turned the desert into their runway.
Gender expectations are fading away. Fashion trends are becoming more accessible to men. Our "norms" are expanding.  Art imitates life....life imitates art. Soo much more I could say on all this but I'm going to save it for another blog post. ;-)
If these images stir something in you, maybe it’s your turn. I’m working on more destination photo adventures—perhaps Moab, Utah again, but also looking into Sedona & Phoenix, AZ and possibly the Pacific Northwest. Where do you think I should go?Â
