Planning a wedding is not easy. Especially when you’re planning it out of state, and when the bride and groom are also separated in different states from each other. With a lot of patience, lots of work, and the help of their wedding coordinator, Tasha Wall, Kristin & Alex pulled off an amazing wedding day!

Their wedding began at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock, CO.  It was a traditional ceremony held in a gorgeous church resting atop a hill with surrounding views of the town. Kristin & Alex had been planning this day for about a year and had not seen each other all day, yet they both were as cool & calm as could be. When it came time for Kristin to finally make that walk down the aisle, hand in hand with her father, towards the man she would be spending the rest of her life with, both of their faces lit up. Throughout the ceremony Alex couldn’t stop looking over at the beautiful woman he was about to marry. From here on out they would be spending their lives together, no longer separated by distance.

Kristin looked stunning. Her wedding dress was simple yet elegant and her hair was perfectly pulled back in loose curls. To add a fun touch she finished off the look with a fun pair of navy high heels for the ceremony, and hot pink heels for the reception!  Beauty on Location by Liz did her natural flawless makeup, and The Ruffly Rose provided the modern bright yellow flowers. The groom wore a stylish grey suit with a navy tie & vest, and of course a bright yellow rose corsage to compliment.

A Five Star Limo drove the wedding party to our next location, Daniels’ Park, for pictures. Daniel’s Park has stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and is a great place for pictures, but definitely takes a little climbing to get to the best spots on top the large rocks. I scoped out the area a few days in advance and found the shortest and easiest trail for us to walk through, but it was still a little bit of a challenge, especially for a bride with a large fluffy wedding dress. Thankfully, Kristin got flip flops for her bridesmaids to walk around in, because we had to do some rock climbing that would not have been easy in high heels.  Kristin & the wedding party were all great sports, and thankfully no one fell off a ridge or encountered any wild animals…at least not yet.

The sun was beginning to set out West, creating a bright hazy horizon and making it difficult to see the outline of  the mountains, but it did provide us with lots of fun dramatic lighting. Check out the picture above of the wedding party with the mountains behind them and the natural lighting on the bride & groom below to see what I’m talking about. I love how the sun’s rays penetrated my camera, and the fun shadows and solar flare it created.

We were able to capture some amazing pictures of everyone, and with time to spare we headed to the reception. Kristin & Alex’s reception was held at The Wildlife Experience, a fun unique wedding venue with not only a large impressive ballroom, but hundreds of wild animals as well.  For their cocktail hour guests are invited to explore the museum. They can walk thorough the Savannah desert of Africa, the frozen tundra, or a waterfall. Where else can you have a drink next to a coral reef, with elephants and lions nearby? Such a fun place!

Not only did Kristin & Alex come from out of state for this wedding, but so did so many of their guests. Their friends & family cheered them on when they entered the reception room for the first time as husband & wife. They had the room decked out with navy table cloths & yellow striped runners. The bright colors complimented their fun and elegant style perfectly. Kristin’s Aunt started off dinner by singing Amazing Grace and Kristin and some of her girls sang along. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and for dessert red velvet cake & cheesecake was served. The Makery created a cute cake covered in sprinkles for the bride & groom to cut. A Music Plus once again worked their skills to get the dance floor hopping.
