Brandon & Julie’s Picture Preview: Wedding at Red Rocks Trading Post followed by a reception at Mile High Station
Julie & Brandon recently tied the knot at Red Rocks Trading Post in Morrison, Colorado. They had friends and family come from all over the country to celebrate their marriage. This October morning started out chilly but on the Trading Post platform which overlooks the stunning majestic views of Red Rocks, the sun was beating down on us and more then warmed everyone up.
Wedding Ceremony at Red Rocks
Julie and Brandon did a unique tree planting ceremony where they each took soil from their hometowns and used it to plant an Evergreen sapling that will grow with their marriage into a large sturdy tree.

Julie’s older brother performed their ceremony which really made it much more of an intimate and personal experience.

The bridesmaids wore coordinating yet unique grey flowing dresses and the the bride looked stunning in her lace strapless gown from A & Be Bridal Shop. Beauty by Belviso did the girls’ hair and Magnifica Bella did their makeup. And Amore Fiori created their delicate purple rose bouquets.

After the ceremony a reception followed at the Mile High Station in downtown Denver. The old metal warehouse turned wedding venue was the perfect location for their 1920’s speakeasy themed wedding.

They rented some of their items, such as the table linens, from Butler Rents and hand crafted some of the decor and design elements themselves. Maggie and Molly’s Bakery created their buttercream chocolate and vanilla wedding cake. And Catering by Design created their delicious food.

It’s not technically official until one little piece of paper is signed- the marriage license of course! Below Julie & Brandon and their two witnesses make it official!

One of my favorite parts of photographing at the Mile High Station is the 2nd floor balcony that wraps around the venue, providing a unique angle for pictures. Below Julie and Brandon have their first dance as bride and groom as their wedding party watches in the background.
Bride & Groom’s First Dance
Their DJ, Danny from the Pros, kept the dance floor pumping all night. Their friends had no problem dancing the night away.
Tearing it up on the Dancefloor
The parents of the bride had their own special dance to Tina Turner’s “Rolling on the River.” They started the song slow dancing but by midway through they were tearing up the dance floor!

And of course the bar is always a popular spot for guests to hang out. I had some fun shooting some candids from the upstairs balcony using just the pin lights from the bar to light up the scene.
