The Grant Humphrey’s Mansion in Denver, CO is a beautiful historic wedding venue located in downtown Denver. It is across the street from the Governor’s Mansion & Governor’s Park, and being on a hilltop it even has a nice view of the Rocky Mountains from the front porch. I personally love antique houses so it is also one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph….and perfect that its less then 2 miles from my home studio, as well as from the couple’s home in Capitol Hill.
Krista & Brice did a romantic private 1st sight of each other on the front porch of the mansion before the ceremony. We almost got all of their pictures done beforehand but then, just as Krista predicted, it started to rain. Thankfully Krista had planned her wedding inside from the start, as if she just knew all along that the luck of rain would fall on her wedding day. Reverend Lucinda performed the ceremony, and she also created the beautiful bouquets through her second business- Tussie Mussie. You gotta love a reverend that also has an artistic eye for flowers! When it came time for Rev. Lucinda to announce “you may now kiss the bride,” their ceremony ended with a laugh as Krista & Brice first dabbed up with a handshake before sealing their love with a kiss.

After the wedding ceremony dinner followed with a delicious meal by Biscuit & Berries that even included a unique pasta bar, it was definitely a crowd favorite. To keep with the historic style of their wedding, Krista & her mom collected unique plate ware from antique stores. Each plate was different, and that was definitely something I had never seen before at a wedding. Following dinner, A Music Plus got the party rocking with lots of fun dance music.

Krista & Brice incorporated a lot of other fun unique details into their wedding day. A card was set at every plate setting asking guests to write in their “wedding wish” for the couple. The bouquets were kept in antique mason jars that fit the wedding style and flowers perfectly. Krista’s yellow shoes were a perfect match for her unique wedding dress embellished with large modern flowers from Amanda’s Bridal. And to compliment the shoes she added “i do” bling to the bottom of her soles and had one large flower added to her hair which was styled to perfection at the salon she works at- Art of Hair.
It takes a lot of details to plan a wedding, but the most important part of the day is sharing your love and celebrating the start of a lifelong marriage with those you are closest to. Krista & Brice did an amazing job of pulling everything together to make it not only a fabulous wedding, but a fun and personal event that their friends & family will remember forever.
