lego dessert topper
Kimberly & Nick held a private wedding ceremony but wanted to throw a large party back home for all their friends & family. So the next day they held an afternoon backyard reception so everyone could celebrate their marriage with them.
The couple kept things casual & colorful with lots of blue and fun details. The bride wore a daisy in her hair and skipped the traditional wedding gown for something much more her own style – a simple blue & white long flowing dress. Kimberly’s family is Italian, so to keep with tradition guests were all served blue liquorice shots for good luck as they arrived. Also for dessert a buffet of Italian cookies was served instead of a traditional American wedding cake. The bride also made her own cake topper- out of legos, which I thought was really cool, I had never seen that before. Kimberly & her sister play on roller derby teams and requested a picture in their roller skates, gotta love a bride in skates!
Kimberly’s grandfather spoke briefly about family & love, and then the bride & groom planed a tree as a symbol of the growth of their new life together. Lots of food & drinks were served as everyone celebrated this joyous occasion. To see some of my favorite pictures from their wedding reception, play the slideshow below.
